Umbraco version 5 - Level 2 course

This course covers everything you'll need to know to pass the Umbraco version 5 Level 2 Certification.

Upgrade course - Umbraco 4 to Umbraco 5

You must hold an existing Umbraco Level 2 certification to attend this course. This course will run for a very limited period during 2012 - early booking is advised to avoid missing out.

This course is taught by Darren Ferguson and Doug Robar - two current Umbraco MVPs.

This course covers everything you'll need to know to update your knowledge of Umbraco 4 to be applicable to Umbraco 5 - and covers topics from both Level 1 and Level 2.

Umbraco version 4 - Level 2 course

This course covers everything you'll need to know to pass the Umbraco version 4 Level 2 Certification.

• Usage of .NET User Controls with umbraco 4
• Debugging .NET Controls and XSLT with Umbraco 4 and Visual Studio
• In-depth explanation of the umbraco object model and usage of the umbraco 4 presentation APIs

Certification

Upon completion of the Level 2 course you'll be given access to take the certification test online at your leisure. The test takes between 15 and 30 minutes and provided you pass you'll be able to call yourself a certified Umbraco developer.

If your company has 4 or more certifications you can call yourself an Umbraco certified partner and get listed on umbraco.org. Remember any combination of Level 1 and 2 certifications count towards certified partner status and can be spread across as few or as many employees as you wish.

On site training

You provide the meeting room and projector, and we provide the Level 2 course at your facility. You save out-of-office time and travel expense for all students. On site training is available for groups of 4 students or more.

FAQs

How is training changing to accommodate Umbraco 5?

• Umbraco 5 courses are now available
• Our February Umbraco 4 course will be the last public version 4 course
• We will provide on site Umbraco 4 training upon request
• For a very limited period of time upgrade courses are available
• You must hold an existing Level 2 certification to attend an upgrade course

How much does training cost?
Our courses cost £775+VAT per student. The price includes the two days of the course, lunch/light refreshments on both days and your certification fee.

Do I need to pay VAT?
VAT is not applicable to courses taught outside of the European Union or to VAT registered EU entities.

How long do the courses last?
The courses run for two days from 9.30am until 5pm on each day.

Do you do on-site training?
Yes. we can come to you. Please contact us for details.

Who does the training?
Level 2 training in the UK is provided by Darren Ferguson - an Umbraco certified developer with over 5 years of Umbraco experience.

Upgrade courses from version 4 to version 5 are taught by Darren and Doug Robar another Umbraco MVP and trainer.

What shall I bring?
Bring a laptop with clean Umbraco install running on .NET 4 and SQL server. You will also need to have Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 installed - the courses use .NET 4. You will be informed of the correct version of Umbraco to use when you register for the course.

Where do you provide training?
We are based in London but are usually willing to travel anywhere to provide training.

Before attending the level 2 course you should have a basic understanding of the following topics (with some practical application).

Cancellation Policy

The policies below apply to UK courses only - terms for overseas courses will be agreed with the student on a per course basis.

Completion of the course registration form is a commitment to attend and pay for the course.

Should the student choose to cancel their booked training for whatever reason, the following charge will apply.

• Up to one month before the course - 10% charge
• Within 28 days of the course - 50% charge
• Within 14 days of the course - 75% charge
• Within 7 days of the course - 100% charge

Your course booking cannot be moved from one date and location to another without our consent.
